Embracing Nature: Why I Choose to Avoid Synthetic Preservatives in Skincare

In today's world, the skincare industry is filled with an array of products promising transformative results. However, amidst the abundance of options, there's a growing awareness about the ingredients we're putting on our skin. As someone deeply passionate about skincare and committed to promoting wellness, I've made a conscious decision to steer clear of synthetic preservatives in my formulations. Here's why:

  1. Commitment to Clean Beauty: Synthetic preservatives like Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, and Potassium Sorbate are commonly used to extend the shelf life of skincare products. While they serve a functional purpose, they don't align with my vision of clean beauty. I believe in creating products that are as close to nature as possible, free from artificial additives and chemicals.

  2. Potential Health Concerns: There's growing concern among consumers and experts alike about the potential health risks associated with synthetic preservatives. While regulatory bodies deem them safe at certain concentrations, there's still uncertainty about their long-term effects on our health. As someone invested in promoting holistic well-being, I prefer to err on the side of caution and opt for natural alternatives.

  3. Skin Sensitivity: Synthetic preservatives have been known to cause irritation and allergic reactions in some individuals, particularly those with sensitive skin. While they may be well-tolerated by many, I believe in creating products that cater to all skin types, including the most delicate. By avoiding synthetic preservatives, I can minimize the risk of adverse reactions and ensure that my formulations are gentle and soothing for everyone.

  4. Environmental Impact: The use of synthetic preservatives also has environmental implications. These chemicals can accumulate in waterways and ecosystems, posing risks to aquatic life and the environment as a whole. As a steward of the planet, I feel a responsibility to minimise my ecological footprint and choose ingredients that are biodegradable and environmentally friendly.

  5. Embracing the Power of Nature: Nature offers a wealth of ingredients with natural preservative properties. Essential oils, plant extracts, and botanicals not only help extend the shelf life of products but also offer additional skincare benefits. By harnessing the power of nature, I can create formulations that are effective, safe, and nourishing for the skin.

To me the potential drawbacks of artificial additives, preservatives and fillers are not worth the savings or the extend shelf life, so we are 100% dedicated to offering true natural alternatives. This drives our formulation process, ensuring our products not only nourishes the skin but also make a genuine positive impact on the environment.
